In my life this week…
This week was a very busy week! First I have been working hard to try and get my husbands art page (Mark Schutter) and my photography page (Carri Schutter) up and running! I am not the best when it comes to marketing so I have made it a goal of mine to work on that part every day.
It is amazing how many different things you can put your time into that could help, but you never know. If you are not careful you will end up spending all your time trying to figure out the marketing and never creating! And that isn't my goal.
I realized yesterday that I was so busy doing the other things that I never found the time to sit and write or to do photography, my two passions. My new goal is to figure out how I can market and create in the right proportions!
In our homeschool this week...
We got the parents guides to her curriculum. I am hopeful the rest will be here today. It is exciting to start this journey but I must admit that part of me, a big part is terrified that I will do a terrible job and my daughter will be scarred for life. But then I have to remind myself that I am her mother, no one other than her father will ever love her as much as I do until she gets married and I know her better than anyone else, so that makes me the perfect person to teach her.
Plus I am a smart cookie myself and I have to give myself that credit as well. God is with me in this journey. I know this is what He wants and if that is the case then He will make sure that I stay on task and don't screw up too terribly. He will give me all the resources and help I need!
I am inspired by...
My daughter! This week she had a dental appointment where they thought she might have a cavity. I was so upset going into this visit because of course my mind could not get rid of the pictures of pain she has endured already in her young life when it comes to other medical issues. I was also projecting my fears of the dentist and the agony that I have felt when I have gone to the dentist in the past directly onto her. Therefore I just "KNEW" that she would be miserable, and it would be terribly painful and that she was going to freak out like she has in the past when she has gotten shots.
I couldn't be more wrong! She was amazing and is my new hero. She didn't have a cavity and that was great, but beyond that she never once flinched or freaked one single bit in all of her time on the table. She was strong and courageous and calm through the whole thing. When it was all done and I told her how proud of her I was for holding so still and doing such a great job her comment was, "Well mom, I knew if I held real still they would be faster and it would be over with sooner." Wish I could reason with my 40 something mind like that! She is only 6 and I am truly inspired by her every single day.
I am reading...
Overcoming Anxiety, Worry & Fear by Dr. Gregory Jantz ~ Excellent book and great follow if you like Twitter or Facebook!
I am grateful for...
My husband who works tirelessly to take care of me and my daughter. He gives me the opportunity to stay home with our daughter and expects nothing in return. He is a true knight and I am blessed to call him Husband!
I am praying for...
The ability to be the best wife, mom and friend I can be. To make writing & photography something that not only gives me joy but brings in extra money so that my love doesn't have to stress so much. That my husband is blessed with a new bike and some buddies to do some stuff with. That my daughter is filled with the joy of the Spirit each day and that she grows with a heart for the Lord and a desire to spread grace to all who need it! The salvation for all those I love that do not yet trust and know the Lord.
